axle install problem
« on: Sep 21, 2008, 01:53:04 PM »
We just installed Marlins heavy duty front axle seal and are trying to install the axle, but it wont go through the seal. The axle is a birfield eliminator kit axle. The old seal and the standard seal that came with the Marlin wheel bearing kit are the same as the Heavy duty seal. What am i doing wrong? It seems like I am using more than enough force to push it through the seal and I did grease the seal. Help

Unfortunately those seals will not work with the birfeild elim kit.  The brass axle bushing that you have to press into the housing take up the space ware the new HD seal goes, basically you are going to have to live with leaky axles until you put birfeilds back in.  Please give the sales staff a call and we will take care of it.

Thanks  CJ
