having an alternator problem...

ive got an 84 pick up with a 22r and my voltage at my battery is 12.5V at idle and 12.8V around 3500rpm. the voltage at the back of the alternator is 13V at idle and 14.3V at around 3500rpm. what could be causing this and how can i fix it?
1996 Tacoma 3rz auto 4x4
1993 Jeep XJ 2 door 5spd 4cyl 4x4
1996 Dodge 3500 12V 5spd 4x4

short in the wireing harness, or a bad connection at the battery
