A body lift is very easy to do, but if you build one yourself, be aware that you will need to extend the steering shaft about an inch to go up 3". This can be done by finding the extender from a purchased lift, or by cutting the shaft and extending it with a sleeve. If you build the lift yourself, make the blocks from HEAVY wall 3" pipe/ tubing, and weld plates to the top and bottom so that when you bolt it together, the block will stay centered. And make sure you use ALL grade 8 hardware. ALSO, when you are raising the body, keep a close eye on the brake lines, engine to body grounds (especially the one from engine to firewall right below the heater valve), and your clutch line. make sure when you're done that the e-brake sheath is not pulled tight, engaging your brake. If it is, open one of the clips that route it under the body, and releive the strain. Hope this helps.
