Off-Road Club Registry
« on: Sep 01, 2006, 02:12:09 PM »
I've noticed that every now and then a member of MCBB inquires about club info and wanting to hook up with one so I decided to create this thread to post your clubs info and where you are at. So if you belong to a club that is actively seeking new members post up your info here.

I'll start:

Spinnin' Fours 4x4 Club, Southern California

We are a family oriented 4x4 club that enjoys all levels of off road travel.
We particularly enjoy difficult rock trails such the Rubicon and other trails of similar difficulty.
Some members are a little more "Hard Core" and seek out more difficult challenges.
The atmosphere is always one of camaraderie rather than competition, assisting and teaching less experienced or less capable participants.
The cumulative off road experience within the club is truly awesome!
Come join us for a day or a weekend.

We are throughout the SoCal area from Northern L.A. county to Southern Orange County, from the Pacific Ocean to Western Riverside county and San Bernadino county.

Here’s a link to our webpage:

Will a Frappr or god forbid a myspace webpage do? I built these in Frappr they are real easy to construct and post up on the web. They guide you through the whole process and it looks pretty good.

I am also a member of Cal4Wheel by default, my club is a member. I actually was a member of cal4Wheel before I was with the Spinnin' Fours. This is the association that fights to keep our trails open, everyone involved in 4x4's should join. The more membership they can show the more power they will have with our elected officials. Clubs also join as a group so if you plan on joining a club see if they are a member, the club will collect your membership when annual dues are due.

Actually, I am supposed to have started a Club Forum here but I just haven't done it yet.

Well, What do you guys think the Forum needs right now?

I would love to add more to it. People used to complain that the board has too many different forums, so I have been hesitant to add anything.

But I want to spice it up a bit, so let me know what you guys think. What should I add to the forum?

That's why I posted this, thought a club section would be fun, kinda like a contact area to guide people to clubs.

Well, how many clubs are there that would use our forum if we gave them their very own club section?

Like I could create a Club Section, and then have Forums like: Northern Cali, Central Cali, Southern Cali, West Texas, Arizona, Kentucky, yadda yadda yadda, and then inside of each area, I would have Child Boards, one for each club represented from that area.

Like right now I would place the "Four Wheel Drive Club of Fresno" under the Club Forum > Central Cali > Four Wheel Drive Club of Fresno. Then as I attend the meetings and we announce trail events or gatherings, I would create new topics in the clubs childboard to let others know what our club is doing.

Yeah?

What should I add to the forum?
maybe a frapper map or something so a person can view the clubs nearest them by distance.

im  thinking no,  but i'll get back with ya,

Marlin is a TTORA sponsor  so  should we have a section like that :dunno:

or are you thinking more of a "Friends of Marlin"  ???

i think it should be a sub forum of the trips  area instead of general 4x4

Yeah sounds like a good idea Mike. I have wanted to join a club besides cal4wd and i was supposed to be the web master of a local "club", but the guy who started it is kinda loopey and the membership was based around who came to eat at Perkos every other thursday night (that place is nasty!!). There were some cool people in the club but we never did anything so I kinda just slipped away.
