22r starter ring
« on: May 26, 2006, 08:38:56 PM »
Anyone have a starter ring (or whatever you call the thin plate between the bellhousing and engine) for a 22r manual?  I needs one.  I am in Santa Rosa 95401

It isn't the flywheel I need.  It is the thin metal plate (like 3/16" thick or so), that is shaped like a "U" and goes between the engine block and the bell housing.  I am obviously not splainin myself too good, so here is a picture :gap:

BTW, I need this to mount the starter to my project, which is a VW 1.9td motor mated to a w56.  Thanks for the help.

Hell, I asked too much then.

I was unsure, so I just started somewhere.

It puts out a whopping 75hp and about 100 ft-lbs stock.  But with an intercooler and screwdriver, 125 hp and 150 ft-lbs is doable.  I am shooting for 115 hp and 135 ft-lbs or so.  In a Sami with 250:1, that will be unstopable and probably make things breakable.  The stock Sami is only 60 hp or so............
