I need some replacement fenders for my 81 pickup. The tree's around here didnt like em to much.

If you and trees don't get along, I wouldn't recommend glass...unless you know how to fix it properly. There's only one place I know of that makes glass fenders for first gens, but I can't remember who it is.

glass fenders brake and there more expencive to replace steel bends and you can repair it with a sledge hammer when you try repairing a glass fender with a sledge hammer it just makes it worse

I've never seen plastic for 1st gens?

I vote for steel, I keep a couple extras around here somewhere just in case.

Donnahoe (sp?) makes glass fenders I believe, saw them on a truck in a mag once.

i would much rather have the steel ones, but the fiberglass fenders are just easier to find. I have tried all the local junk yards and they have nothing. Any suggestions on where to buy the steel.

look around online, or in the parts for sale here. I'm sure you can find some

if trees like munchin on your fenders, you're gonna be going through glass ones before you go through underwear

call Bill Chase in HotSpriongs Arkansas, he has a couple trucks out there with decent fenders

Ithink glass is easy to repair, but, meh...

Fiberglass is a lot stronger than you would think. Mine have taken quite a few hard hits. They look way better too.

u should have some kind of aftermarket sheet metalcompaney out there .we have three in fresno fender are about 70. 00 new after market

I forgot about this thread completly. I just gave a friend both fenders off of a 1980 4x4 we scrapped this weekend because I didn't think anybody would want them

Both were rust free and straight.

they are brand new too. i've gone threw about 3 sets of them. come ready to paint. just make shure you do paint them. its just primer and it will rust
