The official truck width thread
« on: Mar 29, 2006, 10:06:53 PM »
I'm curious what everyone's truck overall width is from end of tread to end of tread.
My original width was 61" which was too narrow IMHO.

Mine is:
55" Axle + (2) 1.5" Spacers = 58"
58" + 10" 3.25" BS Wheels (6.75" past WMS x2) = 71.50"
71.50" + 16" Wide Tread (3" past wheel edge x2) = 77.5"

Overall width = 77.5" (6' 3-1/2")

:dunno: So what are you guys?

BTW, 14.50 Boggers are 16" wide on 10" wheel.

really wide

Minisimp I'm the same as you except I've got 12 inch wide wheels (same b/s) and I'm running 37x14.50x15 toyos.  I'll take a picture but its like half the tire sticking out

Hey Mini, this is a great thread idea! I have been pretty busy, but I finally got mine measured.

Stock '81 Axle (55.5") + 2" Wheel Spacers (4") = 59.5" Axle Width.

Regular 15" Wheels (3.25" BS?) and 12.50" wide 35" MTRs

My front width measures 71" (5' 11") from outer tread to outer tread, and about 73" from outer bludge to outer bludge.

Man I can't wait to go FJ80. Sheesh. Your front end is SUPER Wide. That's really nice  But is that a calculated measure or an actual measure with tape?

Measured, that's how I found out my Boggers were 16" wide and not 14.5 like the tire says. It's 77.5" from outer lug to outer lug (haven't measured the bulge yet)

ya know what I've found now with being that wide.  Sure seems to break a lot more then when i had 35's on 10 inch rims without wheel spacers.

82", 61.5" WMS Waggy D44, 15x10 2.5" BS wheels, 37x12.5R15 MT/R's. Looking into cutting down the width more with some 15x10 alum's with more backspacing though :)

A very unscientific measurement on mine shows about 70 inches between outer sidewalls.
