« on: Jan 15, 2006, 07:38:37 PM »
I have some play in the front wheels, i pull on the top of the wheel and it moven in and out a little what is the part called that i need, is it a bearing or a shim.
Its the same as if you had play in a ball joint.

Most likely you need bearings, but not knowing what kind of truck your talking about it's tough to say.

If it is a straight axle it could be; wheel bearings, trinion bearings, loose nuckle studs, or loose hub parts.  Take it apart and find out the problem.

i just finsihed replacing my trunion bearings. its not a hard job its just kinda tedious. especially if you have a problem getting the cone washers off like me  but other wise just buy a rebuild kit from  :turtle:  and get to it! good luck  this site is really helpful-http://www.birfield.com/~morgan/tech/axle/

You can try calling parts houses and see if they have em, which I would bet they would atleast be able to order them.

im pretty sure marlins kit, even with shipping is cheaper than it would be to buy the rebuild kit front a dealer. and if you buy the rebuild kit you can replace all those worn out gaskets :yesnod:   i was originally gonna buy just the truinion bearings but it would be easier to buy the rebuild kit that way if you do find a bad gasket you have one you can replace it with.
