Dana 60 rear to a toy 6 lug.
« on: Aug 24, 2005, 08:55:48 PM »
Is it possible to convert a Dana 60 rear axle that currently has an 8 lug pattern to a disc brake with 6 lug to match a factory toyota pattern?

You can not redrill the flange if its a full floating axle.

The only way to do it is to weld the yota housing ends onto the 60 tubes and use the yota shafts.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

The shape of the flange prohibits its mounting from what Ive seen.   Im sure it could be machined down to work if you took the time.

If you have some coin to drop, I believe that Dynatrac sells wheel hubs that convert to 6 lug

Bought one awhile back from  the pirate board. It's been converted to a 6-lug. Not toyota outers. The real deal. I think they're custom shafts though.

I don't see why it'd be to hard to do that.  Just find a 30 spline rear 60 and cut the housing down to the appropriate size and weld the flange on that bolts the brakes and axles on from a Toyota.

Try this company, Performance Wheel. They use to have spacers that change from one lug pattern, to another.
