Bump Stop Question
« on: Sep 06, 2005, 11:58:25 AM »
My 85 pickup has 4.5 inch Superlift Springs with 33x12.50x15 BFG Mud KM on 15x10 inch wheels.  I am not quite ready to cut the firewall for clearance, I might do that in the future for 35's, but I need to bump stop the front.  This weekend I hit the firewall hard enough to stop the truck, it does fine with the wheels straight, but when turned it hits hard.

Any suggestions?  What size bump stops should I get?

I think the rule of thumb is that the springs should not go into neg. flex. so if you put on a bump stop that stops it just as it gets "flat" you should be fine.
A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

I think Alcans are good for some negative flex, but point taken.  I'm not sure my springs go negative, but they do contact the firewall at full compression.
