sas questions Quickly please
« on: Jul 02, 2005, 07:10:27 PM »
:rivers:  ???  ??? i need some help understanding the SAS instructions for marlins kit. the frame tubes are to be centered then pushed out 1/4" ??? Which direction is that to be pushed out? toward the outside frame rail or inside? and the shackles are straight not the bent ones as pictured, they came with spacers, i asume for the bottom spring side, however the bolts are not long enough for them. Please help clearify this if you can. thanks

I just called and spoke to Dave, and he says he did it a different way.

You can measure the width of the frame and compare that to the spring hanger, but instead, what Dave does, is he welds on the front hanger, bolts the leaf springs on, bolts the shackles on the springs, and then over the frame tubes. Then square the leaf springs up to the front spring hanger, and where ever the leaf springs position the frame tubes, weld them into place after you remove the shackles and bushings.

Push the frame tube out 1/4". That is from the center of the truck. So push it to the outside of the frame 1/4"
