I got the trail gear diff breathers which make the differential essentially a closed circuit to where the pressure is regulated via an expanding rubber breather. Does anyone have experience with these either good or bad?

First off, most of us OG don't talk about or buy TG stuff.

Secondly, axles need to breathe, hence why they come with breathers.  And what happens when breathers don't work anymore?  The pressure of the axle heating up, and cooking off the moisture creates pressure, and if it can't vent out of the axle vent, then where is that pressure going to push on?  Seals!!

So, think about that!

I'll say it, trail gear is china trash  :D

I used to use the stock breather valves extended with a hose but have found that a fuel filter works even better.  I now use Napa gold 3087 filter and Toyota 90404-51319 union.

I ran the TRG ones, they suck. Blew out my axles seals. Go with an oem style breather

Given what it is, I don't think it would work on a daily driver, not only doesn't look like it wouldn't expand enough, but the multiple heat/cold cycles it would go through would likely harden the rubber to a point where it wont expand, causing the very problem it was designed to prevent, i.e., clogged breather and ruptured seals.  It would probably be fine on a trail only rig, as you usually aren't moving fast enough to generate that much diff heat.

If it were me, and I had already spent the money, I would run some hose line up into the engine bay from the diffs, and use those on the end of the hose lines with a small hole poked in them.
