Batterie dead or more problem?

so today i was out wheelin around. i have an 82 with the 22r.  and i turned it of and then wouldnt start. got a jump from a friend. latter i was driving home and everything electrical just died.  engin sorta sputtered and was struggling to go up a hill. then i pulled off and reved it and it started working better so i drove it all the way home.  (electrical still shot). i was pulling into the driveway and came almost to a stop and it died.  can you guys help me? is it just a batterie problem or something worse?

Alternator maybe?

I would bet on the alternator. Pull it out and see if you can have it tested.

thats the thing this is a new gm 1 wire. im getting a receipt from the guy i just bought it from so we will see...
tried to charge the battery today and didnt give it a good long time but it started but once again                                          died later today. maybe get the battery tested as well?

I would get the battery tested because, I had the alternator tested, then was told it was the alternator.  2 years later, same alternator, new battery.  It was the battery after all,  If the battery has a short in one of the cells, that same problem could happen.  It is either the battery or alternator.  If not, then voltage regulator, I'd say.   :willynilly:
