floor board gunk

does anyone know a trick to get the factory gunk thats under the carpet off of the floor board ???

the hard stuff    but i have spilt a few beers and sodas and now its soft in some places

usually you can just chip it off with a heavy duty flat head screw driver and a hammer.  That has always worked for me, but if its soft, idk what would work best

iin the hard places it comes off pretty good with a screw driver    but the soft stuff is nasty and dosnt wanna come off ?

Use some dry ice on the soft stuff.  It should harden it so you can chip it off.  I have not tested this on Toyota sound deadening but, at least this is true for the other cars I have worked on.

yeah its the sound deadening coat but i want to get it off some i dont have to put my bedliner over the gunky stuff   and im going to try that dry ice today ill update later to let you know and thanks :thumbs:

I have been using a $10 harbor freight heat gun, and a 1/2" chisel. It seems to be working all right.

i decided to just go over it with bed liner and be done with it     if i had more time i would get r done but im waiting for some 4:7 gears so i can put my cases together and put my chevy springs on and finish the high steer for this summer   alot to do not much time

I'm told dry ice works wonders. I chipped mine, but it was mostly brittle
