i have the stock driveshaft in my 4runner and about 8 inches of suspension lift, my only problem it the splines are not long enough, it slips apart when i get bouncing up a hill, but other than that it works just fine, i need a limiting strap untill i do dual tcases and a new driveline

nah, he is on crack...what do you think all those people with square shafts have...stock CV and lots out there running single case.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

What year Toy front shaft? the IFS ones will bind with not much lift but you can clearance them easy. I run one on a sammy with SOA YJ springs and stock wheel base I clearanced it and it does fine. Get a CV from an 85 or older and it will have plenty of travel for a 5" lift and single case.

Clearance the 95 for the rear and use the 84 in the front it should work but you will have to have them shortened lenghtened acordingly.

with lots of lift and a single case the cv WILL BIND  you need to run 2 standard ends. and  i ran a single case for a long time. for a while with a cv and one with out  no cv is the way to go.

I clearanced my ifs cv drive shaft to make a square one and it works great! Just lube it up plenty and it wont even chatter. I have gotten mine up to 55mph with no vibs or issues. I definitely recommend for a budget. Really easy too. $10+grinder+welder=1 hour

I'm in the same boat. While I was at KOH this year I got to see a lot of "our" set ups. I spoke with Dave from Dave'z offroad Performance. Him and a couple of his guys have single t-cases and 5" of lift(at least). So I got to see this in person. He runs 85 and newer stock standard ends with NO cv(cardan joint). From what I saw, the newer ends are a smidge longer than the 84 and older therefore, they can work flawlessly at more of an angle. I'm in the process of locating the parts I need to do this on my own. I'll be making a square shaft with the newer standard ends. I'll be posting pics and such on my thread http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=65878.msg808557#msg808557  . Here's another link from someone else too  http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=66897.msg810892#msg810892  .  Believe me, I want to do this right the first time.

For some reason Toyota made the single u-joint on the front IFS d-shaft with a lot of angle. The single u-joints on the later rear shafts also have a lot of angle to them. I run one of Dave'z front shafts on my rig and it is a work of art and uses two single with a big slip, about one and a half the diameter of a stock slip. Angle is not a big problem on my rig since I have dual cases and a HP diff.

Wouldn't a hi-pinion diff help with binding issues? More clearance as well.

Hi pinion and Dave's specially built driveshaft are nice and probably the BEST way to go. I'm looking at cost and how often do I really use the 4wd. In my case making a square shaft myself is perfect. Kudos to those that have the cash to install the Hi pinion(dont forget the new reverse cut ring and pinion and new bearings $$$$ etc...) and/or Dave's drive shaft. As for OOPS, the heading of the thread says SINGLE CASE, we all probably already know that having the dual cases cuts way down on the angle. But, we are concerned with those of us that have SINGLE t-cases.  :twocents:
