Topic: rear axle swap

I have a 2002 tacoma with the e-locker rearend.  We are thinking of selling it.  So I thought about swapping the rear axle with my 86 runner.  What would that take? Should I swap the thirds or whole axle , or not mess with it?  Gearing is the same, 4:10.

the thirds are different...

if you want a e locker in the rear of the 4 runner
swap it...

but the 95 to 05 rear is about 60.75 wide
and the 86 to 95 rear is about 58 wide..

so maybe that will give you something to think about....

the 3rds are diffirent but will work with modification on the 86 housing, but i say sell it and dont mess with it, find one in the junk yard
