Topic: 89 ifs rear axle swap.

A friend of mine is finally totaling out his old 4 runner. So I'm going to snag his rear axle for my truck. I have a 84 pickup. But I had a few questions. 

 I run 529's will my differential drop right in?

Are the spring pads the same and the width apart? I can measure this weekend but was curious now.

gonna be wider in the rear though unless u put spacers up front.

Your third will drop in to your new housing. IIRC the axle tube is 3in in diameter versus 2 5/8th in??? so measure and if anything make sure to grab the u bolts/square bolts and plates

Ive kinda poked my head in threads about using IFS hub/knuckles on a SA to gain trac width... Something that you might look into rather then using spacers in the front.

i did the IFS hub conversion swap on my front axle, its a very good thing to do if u are dead set against spacers and it will match the width of and ifs rear housing swap.

I have spacers now they don't really bother me. But I do have a manual locking 89 4 runner to rob them off of.

Is it just the hubs you need to take?

if u have the 1" 1/2 spacers and they dont bother u then i would just keep them, always check the torque on them though if u wheel alot.

i have spacers on my 94', no problems with them.

thats the kit i have on my 85 4runner, i got it from a buddy but techically u dont need the spacers the kit offers and u can use the ifs hubs without em.

search up ifs hub swap toyota if it interest u more and u wanna do it but ive never had a problem with spacers either
