tranny question????
« on: Sep 11, 2008, 11:44:28 PM »
will a r151 turbo trans out of an 86 pickup bolt right into my 84 pickup with a G52 trans and a 22r?  Are the bellhousing bolt patterns and tcase crossmember mounts in the same place?

Yes, you gotta use the r151 bell housing. You will need 23 spline input in your tranfer case. Or get the turbo T-case with the tranny. If your gonna use a turbo clutch then you need the turbo flywheel also. But you can use your regular clutch with your stock flywheel for either tranny. and i believe those trannys would use the same crossmember and are both forward shift.

Get the turbo flywheel and tranny.  It's 9/16" larger for more clamping force!  Also the flywheel is heavier to help keep from stalling out at lower rpm's.

yes the turbo flywheel is a lil bigger so I put it with turbo clutch in my 83. It has a L-52 for now.
