watch craigslist and the forums "for sale," I've gotten a lot of good deals. Just use caution. It also helps to know a little about the different products so when you do find a good deal you can pounce on it. I always haggle on price, of course most young people hate this but money talks. And its nothing personal. Good luck.
But, CL and the "For Sale" forum is where I do all my shopping.
I'm on CL almost as much as I'm on here, a lot. Sacramento CL see's it's fair share of goodies but they are still pricey. I have seen adaptors with a crawler case going for like $300 but most of them end up being forward shift. But, CL and the "For Sale" forum is where I do all my shopping.
Is there a problem running 4.7s in both cases? My last rig had 160:1 and it still wasnt low enough in the bigggg boulders sometimes. I am starting to build a new rig from an 83 and need some more gearing. Sorry to hyjack...
Just lower than I need. I like having stock 2.28. Heard of guys running triples, ouch
So with duals, you need a CV in the rear?
no you do not need a CV in the rear. I was running 63 chevies with long shackles without any issue. When I swapped in the IFS rear I just rotated the axle up. Never had a problem either way. I kept the CV on the front......
