Ewwww!  They do that crap here in PA too but it's kind of a 50/50 chance whether they'll really check to make sure you did it.  Just enough to make you worry and do it

Yeah I got pulled over about 3 weeks ago but the copper didnt give me a ticket. I just BSed with him, I think he liked my truck. I told him my specs and chatted for a while then he told me to get mudflaps and have a good one. I am going to do some quick dissconect ones soon though, just gotta figure out how to mount em. I like 4crawler's idea.

Ha! That is pretty funny, I picked up some 1984 (2nd gen) rear mud flaps for free last fall and I was going to build the same mount but with just some straight aluminum. I like the channel, its a good idea

You know, my truck has been my daily driver since 2004 up until this past winter when I started daily driving my motorcycle. So I only bring the BEAST out of the garage to get it ready for a run, which is the case this week as I am getting everything ready for Rubithon.

The CHP was unusually cool. It was a motorcycle CHP, and he only cared about my mud flaps. He didn't say anything about the truck or question any thing other than just the flaps. I told him I've had mud flaps for some time, but rarely drive the truck and hence I never think about the flaps.

I was REALLY waiting for him to ask me to pop my hood. Ever since I got the Ref sticker, I have wanted to shove it in some stuck-up cop's face. But my friend told me that the CHP are giving out fix it tickets even if it has the referee sticker! Has anyone else heard this?

Mud  flaps are they care about here in AZ. Got pulled over in the buggy a few weeks ago and the cop didn't say anything about the lexan windshield, no turn signals, no windsield wipers, the fact that it's still registered as an 85 pick-up, despite having no body parts besides the hood, and no mirrors. He was just worried about a rock hitting his windshield, I told him the law says nothing about rocks, just mud and water!!! We argued it for about 5 seconds when I told him to read the law, he didn't have his book!!!!!! :shake:

Come over to Fremont & see a cop named Rosetie. He likes anything modified. He pulled over a friend of mine & had him open his hood, gave him a ticket for no smog when his truck was a Fedral truck & didn't require smog. My friend is a mechanic & went to court with some smog parts & asked him to identify & explain what the function is. The cop couldn't answer & my friend still lost & had to pay. Wow, that is re-tad-did

Bevin (blane525) just got pulled over last week because the CHP officer could not see his license plate. So before the officer even made it to Bevin's window, he had already walked around the entire truck looking everything over. The office says, "Well, I pulled you over because I could not see your license plate, but I also noticed that you do not have any mud flaps or a front license plate." Sucks

my brothers a CHP so i get a lil sticker i get to put on my ID so if i get pulled over i just flash it around like its my badge!! hahahah kinda sorta.. it all depends on the officer if he's merciful or not. ok true story.. so today right we bought a dresser from the flea market right and we parked in the NO PARKING zone for like 3 and a half minutes the CHP guy who should have ben doin something else at the tmie starts to give my mom a ticket. then she asks him if he'll have "mercy" on us cuz my bro's a CHP. he said NOPE! i think he was just trying to act tough or something..

Since we are on stupid pulled over stories, i got pulled in the carpool lane (wife with the seat layed down sleeping) for having too loud of tires and "they are way louder than 96db" so we got into it and i told him to look at the damn DOT Approved mold on the side of the tire, he got more pissed and gave me a ticket for:
1. Tires sticking out too far
2. No mud flaps
3. No fender flares (not illegal BTW)
4. Cracked windshield
5. Modified exhaust

It was a real fun day. :shake:

I had bought a new Toyota truck & slammed to the ground only days after I got it & I had some stickers on the back window. A city cop pulled me over. I thought I was going to get a to low ticket. Then his supervisor pulled up & he asked why he pulled me over. He told his supervisor that he pulled me over cause I still had dealer plates & stickers on truck  :smack: He told the rookie to let me go. What an  :idiot:

Another time I just got off work & I got pulled over by a CHP as I was getting onto the freeway. He thought I had tinted my side windows. When I rolled up the windows & he saw that they weren't tinted, he asked me how low my truck was. I told him I don't know, my friends lowered it for me. He wrote  me up for heads light below 24", license plate lower than 10" to the ground, front x-member below the rim & exhaust below the rim. I drove back to the shop, jacked up the front & put in my bump stops & aired up the rear air shocks. I went to the CHP office within 15 minutes of getting the ticket to get it written off & the officer said you already fixed it? He looked out the door & wrote it off. Went back to the shop, pulled the bump stops out & let the air out of the shocks & drove home right past the CHP office  :moon:

So Rosettie doesn't like 4x4's either?

All of us in the Subaru community know that name well. Rosettie is a dickhead and will pull anything over to send them to the ref. Rosettie, you get 2 middle fingers.

He doesn't like ANYTHING modified. My friend had to call the donut shop & tell them that Rosetie was drive by his house. He pulled over & messed with my friend so much that he sold his truck. He has eye balled me a few times but I have flaps ( :stopit: ) & I'm within the height limit. I have a laminated copy of the lift laws in my glove box just in case. Watch out for him, he's back on a motorcycle again.

Was driving on a country road here in Vacaville, and passed a sheriffs deputy parked facing the opposite way.  As soon as I passed, I saw the wheels turn, and she flipped  around and flicked the lights.  Pulled over, she comes up and says "I pulled you over for no front plate, and now I see that your windshield is cracked, and your taillight is out."  :smack:  so she asks for my reg., I hand it to here, and she goes back to her car.  30 sec. she comes back sheepishly, and asks for my license.  :haha:  I give it to her, and while she's back at the car, another deputy walks up and tells me that she is a trainee, and that if I do a Field Sobriety Test, he'll let me off. :woohoo:

Did the FST, and then we stood there for 20 minutes :bull crap: ing about wheelin.  turns out the male deputy takes his quads up into the sierras all the time.
