Depending on your driving style, I would think that having lower gears would allow you to be easier on the front end.  Lower gears equals control and reduces the need for speed which often causes bouncing/hopping which breaks front axles.

As long as you don't put a locker in the front you should be in fine shape absent of "hammer down" wheeling.  You might be able to get away with a limited-slip such as a Trutrac as well.

I have never owned/wheeled IFS so I'm not the expert, but most things when treated with care don't break.

Get an Aussie Locker from www.aussielocker.com

The internal springs are softer than the LockRight or Detroit EZ which allows it to unlock easier making turning easier and I suspect a bit smoother on the street.  I have one in the front of my 85 and based on Moab experience it is an excellent product.

They are about the same price and you will find a lot less stories of them breaking.  Everyone know someone that has broken a LockRight, but very few have broken an Aussie Locker.  In fact, they are the only locker on the market without a tire size restriction in the warranty.

Driving style will contribute to the life of your rear (s) for sure. I would agree with blackdiamond cancel or return that lock right. If you are gonna run a locker in the front plan on hard turning, and lotts of wear on the front end. I had a locker in my old toy (84) solid rear and every time I took it out I broke something. traction is addictive, be smart about your investment

The 4.70 gear set makes a world of difference over stock. I havnt gone dual cases but my single case with the 4.70s has taken me virtualy every place my buddy with duals has gone, with my only limiting factor being my 32s VS his 37s. Compared with stock it makes decents and accents much easier to handle. i can crawl up hills with twice as little effort as a stocker. just a little tap on the gas here and there. best investment i have made thus far on my toyota. its mainly the lockers that are going to start breaking things, as everyone else has said. anyway, go for it! you wont regret it.

A single 4.70 has nearly the same function as duals, the final gear ratio's are very close; however, if it is the dual ultimate setup get out of the way!...you should have plenty of time.

With two stock dual cases you have more selectibility than one case with 4.70's.

I would agree completely, but I don't think having duals make a truck more capable than a single 4.70.  It does, however, allow you to cruize down the trail a little faster.

I didn't say it would wheel better, it just gives you more options.  I do, however, think the single 4.70:1 case would be more of a liability in mud or sand because you want wheel speed for those.

Point taken, I was thinking rockcrawling, but I have been in some mud where the 4.70 killed me.  I try to avoid mud so this hadn't really crossed my mind until now, you have converted me.

I hate mud too.   There is not much difference in rock crawling for sure.  The selectibility is nice when you are cruising in snow also.
