I would suggest the Marlin 1200.  I have the Marlin 1600 and I think it was a bit overkill.

Would sugest a marlin 1600 over a 1200.  It may be over kill on your truck, but in the mud with 38's  you want all the grab you can get.

I would recomend the the 1600, or the 1200 ceramic.  I have the 1200 ceramic and it will hook up always.  Sever use, and extream temps mean nothing to this clutch, it will go.  The only bad part is its REALLY touchy since it hooks up so tight.  After driving it for ~700 miles I am beging to love it!

Nothing else.???????? Don't know about nothing else........
I say an "ACT" (advance clutch technology) pressure plate with marlins ceramic disc or ACT's ceramic disc. Either one is fine. I'm running a ACT pressure plate with marlins ceramic disc. There's no slipping thats for sure. ACT has three different pressure plates to chose from. Heavy duty, Xtreme, and full race. They also offer a street disc, 6 puck and 4 puck ceramic disc's. If you want some serious holding power from a pressure plate whether you run a street disc or ceramic, go witha ACT pressure plate. Just to let you know.ceramic disc are recomemded for offroad use or strictly race due to the fact that they grab so good, somethings gonna give. So if you like driving your rig on th street too, go with a conventional style disc.   You can purhase these pressure plate from a Import racing shop that specializes in performance parts and racing products.

I'm running the heavy duty pressure plate from ACT and I'm satisfied with it 100%. imagine an Xtreme pressure plate and it's holding power............ahahahah......
If you do a lot of mud bogging or heavy on the foot, go with athe Xtreme pressure plate....You won't be disappointed .

I missed that you are running 38's, I only have 33's so the 1600 might work perfect for you.

look at my signature,   LCengineering stage II race cam, bored .060 over Hypereatic pistons, header, weber ,  and the 1200 non ceramic,  but  with 38's  and being offroad only i would definitely get the 1600 ceramic

I had a Centerforce clutch back in the early 80s.  No problem.  I just remember the pedal was easy to push down  :wag: :wag: Had 35" groundhawgs

I have 10,000 miles on the Marlin 1600 non ceramic and it feels great!  The pedal is solid feeling yet effortless to drive in all conditions from driving in tranny deep snow to stop and go traffic on a hot summer day.  Get one and you'll be happy.  Granted I live in Colorado where it is usually dry and I don't know which would last longer in the mud.  As long as its Marlin you're good to go   :beerchug:
