The reason I asked about the drum brake option is because my buddy who is using this axle is putting it under a 1968 Land Rover lr109. He is wanting it to look stock-ish, but Rover axles are pretty weak. Toy axles look sort of correct. Not sure if he wants to do drums cause that's how they were stock. He's actually running an fj60 rear which is a huge upgrade from the Rover stuff. This is not a crawler by any means.
