Re: Birfield question
« on: Oct 08, 2008, 11:55:03 AM »
I'm confused... :headscratch:

I was installing my chromo birfields and had a question  when i put the shaft in the birf it is loose and does not hold its self in the birf          for instance if i hold it up by the birf the axle will slide out is it ok to run it this way?

my clips broke that is why i didnt put them back in there    does any body sell them?   and will it be ok just for this one weekend because i wont have time to pull it back apart before i go wheelin     thanks tyler

Why would you finished an install, knowing it was missing a part, without first finding out if it would make a difference.  :dunno:

I'm fairly sure that one of the first Longfields that broke was the result of the inner axle rubbing on the birfield housing causing a stress or weak point that eventually resulted in a crack.
