You can get a aftermarket one for less than $100. I have been wrenching for 20 years & have never, ever, rebuilt one. I'm not saying that it isn't possible but to me it would quicker to swap it out rather than tear it apart. But if you have the time to figure it out make sure you take plenty of pic's & post them up in a how to thread so the rest of us can learn too.
I've been learning that the Toyota trucks seem to do better with OEM parts, I'm not saying that the aftermarket isn't up-to-par. It may just be my luck. I will gladly do a write up. If it is possible. It's killing me trying to remember who told me it was.....It will save a crap load of $$ if it is..
