sounds like lack of bypass.
you can try the toyota 85 4runner t stat. it is a dual stage thermostat. she cost me 35 bucks though.
Thats the one I have, 85 yoter P/U, its a dual stage. I'll try another, mabe this ones got some emotioal problems
