cooling system q.
« on: Oct 02, 2005, 06:43:51 PM »
what is wrong if coolant does not circulate in the radiator? rad, water pump, toy stat are all new. also, fan was turned on the other day and temp gauge was a little higher than normal. turned it off and gauge was a little lower. before the head was replaced last year, temp gauge was low. now it is at 9 o'clock position. thank you

Leave the cap off and put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator. and see if the water dosen't start flowing. If it starts chuging out of the rad the there may be an air lock or the thermostat may be opening late. What  temp tstat did you use?

Another stupid thought is Chevy made water pumps that turned in diferant rotations depending on how the belts are routed, did toyota ever do this?
