I wouldn't run no stat at all. That could cause problems too. A new stat sometimes needs to get run in. I have installed a few new stats and a few times it opened late on the first fireup, I think thats normal. The next time after that it worked as advertised. If it does it more than twice I would think its a bad stat.
What is the factory stat? 210 or something right?
