I have a 00 std Taco and it makes a squeaky clicky tick noise. My truck's clutch did not make any noise until I change the drivetrain fluids with royal purple synthetic gear oil and greased the driveshafts with Red Line CV-2 Synthetic grease like there was no tommorow that is when the squeaky clicky clucth came into play, on the other hand the violent clunk went away that was there when shifting between gears 4 and 5 at 3,000 rpms. The noise stops when you put a little pressure on the clutch pedal. Took it to a transmission specalist and she took it out for a test drive and said the clucth feels fine and it does not sound like the throw out or pilot bearing, she said it sounded like it is coming form underneath the dash we went back to the shop and she greased the clutch pedal assembley and it went away for about 5 minutes. When she took it out for a 2nd test drive it came back. She was dumbfounded she said, the only way for her to really see whats going on is she is going to have to pull the transmission out to look at it. I told her I will have to wait until I get some money.
