My Transmission does that, but I don't have a fifth gear. I believe my 5th ring gear is ground off. It was making that same noise for awhile, then I lost fifth gear. It's okay though, besides the metallic fluid I drained, I don't mind the four-speed too much. Besides, I live in Alabama, so this type of mal-maintenance behavior is acceptable.
