my 86 did the same thing about a year ago with about the same mileage
almost every day on my way home from work the the truck would surge
1st i thought i t was me or the a/c cycling than one day at a stop sign
...well it stopped and would not restart ignitor was bad. toyota wanted
like 650.00 i did fing one for around 325.00
i also was able to keep it running when it was surging by reving it up
untill it breathed its last breath at a stop sign by a church......
