Re: 91 Toyota 4x4 Tire Gear Question
« on: Jul 29, 2019, 08:25:23 PM »
Hey everyone. I have read the faqs and the wheel tire thread.
I just have a question about what I have read. Iirc 31x10.50x15 will require re gear to 4.56 gears and 33s will require re gear to 4.88s? Thanks

It depends.  I ran 31s, 32s, and 33s with my 85 Standard Cab, 5-speed with stock 4.10 gears for 10 years.

But... as Snow said.... re-gearing for larger tires is better if you want to have your factory torque in the right RPM range and in the right trans gear position.
