The earlier 4 speeds were shorter so the driveshaft is longer
So both of you guys are fairly certain that a W58 will match up to my 22r 2wd as long as it has the correct bell housing or I have one from the original transmission (which I do). I don't know which 4 speed it is though, L40/42 or W40/42. The vehicle no longer has a VIN plate.
