Pop off the pulley from the crank (didn't even need a puller with mine)

The only seals worth a damn are the Toyota ones.

The newer ones are thinner, so if there's a groove you can position the seal so the lip isn't in the groove.



I think you told me this before.  I have heard of several other ways too.  Supposedly, some cars had different seals, and some are wider, some need a lip trimmed off, and various other methods. 


Not a fan of a speedy shim.  Since its a long term bandaid.  I just would rather spend the money and do it right and not have to worry about it for 200,000+ miles.  I had experiences with a prior 4x4 that I believed the mechanic and this would fix that, only to have the same issue happen again in less than 6 months.
