I've got a 94 pickup with a 22re that squealed too. Usually at slow cruising speed. Would disappear when I stepped on the gas and return just as soon as I let off. Couldn't figure out what was causing it. 5 speed stick. No power anything. Had the timing chain replaced at 194k and haven't heard the squeal since. Perhaps there is a connection.
