With links he wont need a long slip.   Clearanced cv if angles are not crazy and look at a retube and balance.

yup go this route. you don't need along slip driveline a link system is different then leaf springs in the driveline aspect and how it travels and slips. clearance the cv as needed extended the shaft length if needed and then get it balanced. its cheap and easy.
