Plugged muffler
« on: Dec 29, 2015, 06:06:59 PM »
I've had the muffler on my '83 since I bought the truck. It was a Flowmaster so when I put the new 22r in I kept it, then when I swapped in the 2RZ I kept it. Well the 2RZ never seemed to have the power I thought it should, LC Engineering cams, header, and CAI along with pinks. Well I recently became part of the faculty at a local state college and I asked the Auto Tech dept to give it a once over. They found the exhaust had excessive back pressure and recommended a new muffler. So I made an appointment at my favorite muffler shop to get a new Flowmaster Series 40 installed. The owner said he had only seen aftermarket mufflers like mine fail twice in over 20yrs, yes he was skeptical. Well with the new muffler installed I hit the road/trails and holy crap what a power difference, now it runs like I hoped in would. Weeeehaaaaa!!!!!
