you will have to slightly modify your current rear housing, I'm sure sqwadoosh will chime in, as he just did this mod not to long ago

I would search online retro fitting e locker third, I think it would be easier to just cut every thing off the housing its in, and weld on spring perches, and shock tabs, ect.

So it's been a while sense I have been on here, I will update you guys on the progress of the "rig"
I finally finished my on board air system with the ARB compressor and the viair 2.5 gallon air tank. With the max working pressure of 100psi I ran hydraulic house for my air houses, I know kinda over kill but it was free and super durable ! With air chucks from and rear of the truck. I installed the compressor inside the truck under the seat of the extra cab has plenty of clean air to compress ! Also finally bought a rear TRD e locker for $400 with 4.10 gears in it. My plan is to run 5.29s but that's another project.

Have you ran the comp and filled the tank yet to see how hot it gets?
Are you planning on using it to air up your tires as well?
Most of the 12vlt comps I have used get very hot when used to fill tires back up, hot enough to melt rubber hoses or wires.
'90 black X-cab mod'd 3.0, 33's/4.88's, rear ARB, custom bumpers, sliders, safari rack, etc.
'91 Blue X-cab 22re, 35's/5.29's,Truetrac front, ARB rear, dual cases, and custom Safari flatbed, bumper, interior.

Yeah it's to air up my tires. It's does get pretty hot, a little to hot for my liking, but I already bought it so I'll probably run it tell something happens to it. I also have a power tank so that's a good back up. Just hate having to get it filed and trucking it around.

So today I was going to tackle the wiring of my new TRD e locker but I can't seem to get the wiring right. I've read forms and watch videos and for some reason my wiring colors do not match everybody else's wiring colors also, I don't have a plug it's hard wired into the actuator.. Has anybody had this problem before ? I am trying to bypass the computer and just go to the switch.

Try checking the resistances between wire pairs. That may help determine which go to what

I still can't figure it out, when I think I do and go to test it I always blow the fuse lol. I think what I am going to the is try to find a actuator with a plug and he correct wire colors than go from there.

What do you guys think about bobbed beds ? Thinking cutting some frame off but don't really want a flatbed. I would like to bob the bed but I want it to look clean and original. Not some hack job. Also gotta find a good thread about it.. any inputs ?

Ive got the full length bed on my extra cab and rarely hit it so its hard for me to give up the bed space. I think they look cool bobbed though and have seen a few really nice, clean ones around.

So this weekend I finally found the time to wheel my truck and see what it can't really do and work some of the the kinks out of the truck. We went to slick rock and hit the trail in about 2 hours. And I didn't brake anything ! Truck did very well and I love it haha. I would like to get some tube doors tho. Also I aired down to 15 psi not sure what everyone else airs down to.. but I felt like I could have been a little lower and still been ok. What do you guys air down to? I am on 35x12.5x15

Nice! I've had really good results airing down to about 9 psi.. no beadlocks, i just crawl over rocks..

9psi is hella low. But that has to be a smoother ride compared to 15, I was getting beat up.. have you ever popped a bead?

Bobbed beds look good, but I wouldn't recommend sectioning one as your first metal fabrication project, might try making a half door, or buy a beat upbed to cut, weld, body work on first, before cutting into clean sheet metal.  Not caring for the look of a regular flatbed and needing the 6' bed for gear is what led me to design a Safari style bed for my '91.

15psi is about right for AT's but the MT's have a stiffer sidewall and need a lower psi, for 35's most run 8-10psi.

10psi or less will smooth out the logging roads quite nicely, and shouldn't have an issue with the bead as long as you drive with them in mind, i.e. don't hit objects at speed.  The type of rim and its bead ring will also make a difference in how well you retain the bead.

Update on the truck* gears and lockers should be ordered soon. Also I bought a used flatbed and running a flatbed now on the truck but due to work I haven't had much time to install it.
