cv style driveshafts

probably a dumb question but could you cut the cv out of a front driveshaft and run it with just 2 instead of 3 u joints?
ive been having a hard time finding a replacement front shaft without a cv.

You can always have one made at the D-shaft shop.

All of the front I have seen have a CV, solid axle and IFS. What you want to do will not work because the u-joints in the CV are a different size then the single u-joint.

You can always get a conversion u-joint that will work. Just take measurements of your caps and call your local d shaft shop. Will be a lot cheaper than getting a new end cut and welded on. Powertrain performance makes the conversion joins that I know of. Also tom woods I imagine.
