CONTROVERSY / FREE SPEECH152
Obama Rips Fox News – Here's Why It's the Most Dangerous Statement a President Has Ever Made
23059144_sFrom Day 1 in the White House, Obama's Public Enemy Number 1 has been Fox News.

Because Fox News doesn't agree with Obama and frequently criticizes his actions and policies, they don't deserve...

Freedom of Speech Rights?

Don't believe it?

Check out and listen to Obama's comments and decide for yourself:

What was most revealing about the president's comments was his expressed desire to "change how the media reports."

Speaking of Fox News, the poor, and the way GOP leaders think, Obama said, [W]e're going to have to change how our body politic thinks, which means we're going to have to change how the media reports on these issues."

"Change how the media reports."?

Our most basic part of freedom of expression is the right of freedom of speech. The right to freedom of speech allows individuals to express themselves without interference or constraint by the government. This right to freedom of speech also extends with little difference to the press.

This fundamental attack on free speech and freedom of the press is an attack on ALL Americans fundamental rights.

Has a President EVER publicly uttered a more dangerous comment

No real surprise, Liberals are only for speech that she with their pov, everything else is have speech and should be sensored.  Hell he soon two POTUS elections by claiming criticism was racist or abusive, expect Hillary or any non-
white straight male who wins the Dem nomination to do the same thing, and the mass media will fall in lock step, even if the Reps have a minority as the nominee.

Nothing all that different from any other Maoist out there. The Democrat party is no longer the party your grandpa thought it was. Big Leftists have taken control. They've already changed how we speak, what we can't say (or even think), they control what we eat and drive...it's worse in some state than in others. Look at California...once the most forward looking free state in the union...now, I would open a hot dog cart in Cali. Hell, that's why I no longer want to move to Texas...to many Californians are there now. No offense, but even a conservative Californian is more liberal than a liberal Texan from 20 years ago.  :yesnod:

Do you have a number on that? That sounds to stupid even for him.

SB 1306 was sponsored by Democrat Mark Leno from San Francisco.

If I'm reading that correctly, it does not say you can't refer to yourselves (or others) as husband & wife. The bill changes the terms that can be used in state laws. Pretty damn sad state of affairs IMHO but you & I are still free to call ourselves whatever we want to. For now....

Democrat from San Francisco.

How odd that that particular combination spawned this little bit of PC.

Best thing you can do is boycott the big media and quit stairing at your smart phones.  Read books, study history.  We are being spoon fed everything and it's working quite well.

Well you know what I mean. There is certainly value in staying connected, but I think it's important to filter the BS from what's real and important.  Most people are too distracted with all the media and doodads to even care what's going on.  We've all become a bunch of babies with binkies in our mouths. ;)

I care about my freedoms and the right to free speech and all other rights the constitution gives us. I don't have a smart phone.

Not all of us.  ;)

Collectively, though, you make a valid point.

Never have that I know of either, but if you get involved in a conversation and question the uber left-wing views somebody is trying to jam down your throat, they inevitably make some emotional (though seemingly rational to them) and aggressive accusation that you must be a fox news loyalist!  No, I just have a brain to think for myself and not blindly follow the media

The most effective way to debate an issue, for the left, is to not debate the issue...ever. Don't debate...destroy. Destroy your opponent's reputation. Impugn his character, make him the butt of jokes, call him racist, question the legitimacy of his children...anything to distract from having to debate and thus promise anything concrete that you can be held accountable for. Hope and Change...brilliant line...it was exactly what each of his lemmings wanted it to be and nothing more than what he said. Look at everything Romney said during the election, that has been found true.

I challenge everyone to go to their library and read "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alynsky. I read it in the 70's when I was much more of an anarchist...but, I read it again. That book lays out...clearly every technique Big Leftism uses to work the system. This is not some 9/11 denier crap...this is their game plan. Once you read it (library...don't buy it and give Leftists any more money  ) you'll see how they manipulate things. It really is an eye opening read.

Here, in the interest of open discussion and free transfer of ideas...http://archive.org/stream/RulesForRadicals/RulesForRadicals_djvu.txt

One question everyone must ask occasionally..."if everything I know is wrong, when do I want to find out?". I trust no one or put faith in no one 100%. Especially...I do not want to get comfortable and complacent, taking everything "my side" says as gospel. There's a reason they have the saying "swallowed the Koolaid"...people blindly trusting another.
