Fj 80 steering question?
« on: Mar 01, 2015, 07:23:50 PM »
I Just put a fj 80 axle under my f toy . It has a duel ended steering ram 6 inch stroke.
It does not cut as sharp as the mini truck axle did.
Can I put an 8 inch stroke ram on an fj80 axle?
Thanks for any help or information

Yes you can run an 8" ram, I forget what the # is, but it is not quite 8.  Dis-connect the ram and measure the steering it yourself, you may need to replace the ram with a tie-rod temporarily to measure the swing.

What knuckles do you have?
it is highly recomended to run an 8in ram if your running the hellfire knuckles.

An 8" ram is almost dead on for the FJ80 axle, my steering stops were near perfect after installing the 8" ram.
