This year's Round-Up will be held at the Springs Campground, Rubicon Trail, September 19, 2015. Registration should be up shortly and we thought it would be a good time to see some Checklists to get your rig MCR READY!!

What must I get done before it's Rubicon ready?
Nothing, I'm Rubicon ready suckas :ha_ha:

What would I like to have finished before MCR14?
I'd like to have my on-board air hooked up finally.

Regards,
BigMike

Sweet deal. Me and my dad will be attending this year for the first time. We're long time wheelers, but just have never ventured out of our regular wheeling trips. We are ooober excited. Already got the days off. I will be in my 2nd Gen 4runner and my dad will be in his 75' caution orange FJ40. If you went to the original molina ghost run in Clear Creek you will Def recognize the cruiser.  :beerchug:

unless i find a tow rig i am pretty sure we are driving down from Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada again..   we gotta win that long distance driving award two years in a row.. ;)

as far as the fj45 goes, I have to get rid of the poly bushing motor mounts that i made and put the stock toyota ones back in again.. both for the engine and the tcases...  i had also installed the heavy duty poly tcase mounts and along with my poly bushing motor mounts they were too stiff and transmitted to much vibration to the cab..   the vibrations caused from the mounts shook the truck apart and shook the fillings out of my teeth...            there are a couple of brake lines that i want to redo and i need to wire in some fancy new led rock lights but other than that we are ready to go...

oh, and perhaps actually grab the right bag of tools for the trip.. for some reason i grabbed all of my standard tools so i didnt have a single metric tool to use when we broke down..   i ended up buying about 60 dollars worth of tools so i could fix what i needed to fix only because i was in too much of a hurry to pack the tool bad properly before we left...
the never ending build...

Make sure you bring 1 spare part of everything!

not being able to get an alternator in the States for a 3b diesel and having to just run on just dead batteries definitely brought the suck for over 8000 kms of driving..  Thats what i get for driving a Canadian specific truck..    that being said i am sure thankful for my h55f Marlin crawler toybox..   because of it i didnt stall once on the Rubicon trail..  having to boost the cruiser every time i stalled would be bad for everyone if i didnt have those lower gears..

getting a spare alternator rebuilt with all new denso parts was the first thing i did when i got home...

the never ending build...

Hit your local wrecking yard for...

Stock 1988-95 Toyota 3VZ-E radiator
or
Stock 1986-87 Toyota 22R-TE radiator (you'll have to plug off the turbo cooler lines)
or
Stock 1984-89 Toyota 2L or 2L-T diesel radiator

All factory 3-core bolt-in options

Marlin is running the Diesel 2L radiator.
I'm running the Turbo 22R-TE radiator. I had a radiator shop close off the turbo cooling ports while they hot tanked it.

Swap in my new front axle shafts and birfields and replace all the knuckle parts with a Knuckle Rebuild kit I won at MCR12. Oh and, Big Mike,  :slap:  I showed you exactly how to plumb and wire that thing at Mud-In-Yer-Eye last year. Did Marlin ever get his working with the stuff he got like what I'm running?

As fer stuff I wanna get done....I'm just doing some downsizing and upgrading for my camping gear. trying to save space in the rig this year. Yet, I still think I'm gonna show up with my rig looking like a pregnant turtle.  :disturbed: :gap:

Mine is a list I actually have to get done before the 4th as I'm going to Moab for a week right before the roundup. My to do list as of right now.

- Dual Cases
- Triple Stick
- New Front and Rear Driveshafts
- Regear to 5.29
- Front Locker
- Replace rear True-Trac with Detroit/Grizzly (if time and money allows)
- V6 brake upgrade
- Knuckle rebuild
- New RCV axle
- Interior cage
- Fix my hot soaking issue that has arisen ever since my 3RZ swap.

Its kind of depressing when I write it all down. Man I've got a lot to do still.
