Washington Wet Wheelers
« on: Jan 29, 2015, 05:33:17 PM »

Well guys the Wet Wheelers started last year after I found that all the local clubs around me didn't really fit the atmosphere I was looking for. It all started last March with a small Walker Valley run with myself and one other 1st gen 4Runner and has grown at a pace I would have never imagined. I hold no bias to type of rigs or drivers allowed into the club. I have one rule and that is "only good people". I've found that the people who don't fit that bill show it pretty quickly and are luckily are the minority. I have made some amazing friends in the last year and had an opportunity to traverse some incredible trails. The sky is the limit with the Wet Wheelers and we have a very big year ahead of us. Last year we had club runs to Tahuya, Walker Valley, Naches, Reiter, and Evans Creek. This year we plan to return to them all as well as break new ground for us with trips to Manastash, Elbe, Paradise Lake, Rimrock Lake, a week long trip to Moab, and more! Our members are all of the 'tread lightly' mindset set on respecting the land and ensuring it stays open for use for years to come. In an effort to ensure this we also will be donating our time to local work parties and trail building. I'm very proud of the Wet Wheelers and look forward to our adventures to come. Feel free to check us out at www.facebook.com/washingtonwetwheelers

Sick! I look forward to wheeling with you soon. We have had two snow runs recently that had to be cancelled due to the lack of snow and abundance of rain. A trip will be coming here in the next couple of weeks though for sure. Whether its snow or not there will be one.

After some further research I am considering renting a condo for the duration of the trip. Apparently getting a camp spot is quite the roll of the dice in Moab especially with us going on labor day weekend.

The other pros for a condo other than a guaranteed place to stay would be of course hot showers (we will be there for a week after all) a garage to store doors, fiberglass tops, etc., and a place to work on our trucks should something happen. I have conservatively priced a couple out and if only 4 of us were to go (I sure hope it is more) it would be rather affordable.  The condo would be cheaper the more of us that go and/or we can get a nicer one.

I would love to hear what everyone thinks on the matter. Thanks.

Shake off run
Date:  03/21/2015
Time: 10:00 AM
Meeting Place: Family Grocer in Gold Bar
Trail System: Reiter

Its time to shake off winter's coat and put the rubber in the rocks. We will be making a run to Reiter to ensure everyone's winter additions are all in working order. We will be having a photographer shoot the run as well so it is definitely going to be a good time. We will meet at the family grocer in Gold Bar at 10:00 AM sharp. The weather is supposed to be in the 60s!

A week latter would be better for me also. I am on the staff for search and rescue training next weekend, and would be more recovered from my sinus surgery if we did it the following week.
