Yup, Highwood, MT. Do they still wheel "Deep Crick" over there? There used to be a cool dirt bike climb down there by the river, a loose mound that goes into a big V-notch about half way up.  I had a guy in a TJ follow me up it once and his rear end drove out from under him just before he got out the top and it ended up under his drivers seat!  It was always littered with busted side mirrors from full sized guys too.

Post up a few pics of your Toy.

I never got the chance to head up Deep Creek.  The local news did a story one time about it that painted 4x4ing in a pretty bad light.  That and all the keggers killed it i think.  The top if Blue Mountain heading over to Telephone Butte is fun when it's wet, but it's so crowded.  I pretty much exclusively wheel the P-burg/Deerlodge/Hall/Maxville area, lots more trails that are more challenging.  Supposedly there's some good stuff on the reservation, but you need a tribal rec. permit (and i'm not sure about their regs' definitions of "road" or "open unless posted closed").

My old rig was this tubed, camo'd, locked, dual 5pd equipped beater.  Since sold (and parted out i believe.)

then i had a POS stock 89 4runner...also parted out.

Nice little samurai on 31's for awhile...

Currently this rusty FJ55 that'll never leave the garage

also currently the tan 85 that has 5.29s, Downey/OME lift springs, flatbed, 33's.  Getting Duals and lock-right and it'll be done enough for me.  Here i am being the pack mule for a buncha coworkers' ATVs on a camping trip.

anyway, that's me.

Nice rigs.  Was that the same tan samaurai we had at Fall Crawl that time?

I've been up above maxville a few times.  Great Trail.  Excellent snow wheeling too.  Went up there with Nick Yalon in a big gold FJ60 he had in like June.  Huge amounts of all kinds of snow with tree holes, ice chunks and water flowing over ice.  We wheeled up to a high lake in my pickup and his cruiser and on our way down Willie and a bunch of MBR jeep guys were stuck in our tracks. Best snow wheeling I've ever had.  You almost layed over in the ice troughs again and again but we always gept going for some reason.  Like 3 psi in the tires...

How do you like those 33s you have ther on the pickup?  I've been eyeing those for my '80.

Not the same one, but it looks pretty darn close!

They're like every other generic, low-end mud tire out there i think.  They ride real good, i never even had em balanced.  I bought the set from discounttiredirect.com, free shipping.

I need some 31s on my 1980 pickup some time.  Those are pretty cheap so I was down to those, the Nankangs or the ND radial IROKs.  Free shipping is pretty tough to beat though so it's probably down to those or the Nankangs.

I had Nankings on the samurai, they work great just like the old buckshots.

I think Treadwright has free shipping too right?

I didn't get free shipping but the treadwrights when I bought them but the set I ran were great. The price has gone up to the point of being the same as cheap MTs from discount tire though so that being the case I would consider all the options.

I do like the old school mud look of the Nankangs.  I think they would look right on my clapped out 1st gen.
