had one in my jeep and my 4 runner buggy.  Both had full hydro and a different column though.  they are nice for getting out of the buggy.  your friends will think its funny to steal it and leave you at buck island.  had to drive out with a 2 pair of vice grips :smack:

Im using the Grant #2001 anti theif.

link: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/grt-2001

One thing I like about it is that the steering wheel comes completely off and it have a secure (red color) plate which locks into place to prevent the use to pliers etc to make steering harder. Note, its not proof that this will prevent the vehicle from being stolen. They can still drives the car, just makes it super hard to turn as turn ratio is increased.

I'd seem where car have multiple kill switches and etc and thieves end up driving a tow truck and tow the rig away.

only thief proof, is to garage kept the rig. multiple kill switch along with steering wheel removal does help and alter the thieves from steal the rig. And when all attempts fail, don't fire warning shot! shoot to kill!  :rofl2:

I have the grant setup on all my toyota's. It takes about 5 seconds to pop the wheel off and lock it. I keep the wheel behind my seat. On one occasion I came back to my truck to find the door open and the wheel on the passenger seat. I know Zippo on here has one. I dont recall the make and model but I had a quick look at it. It looked nicer and of higher quality than the grant stuff.

NRG is the brand. I also have a lock for it to make it even more anti-theft. I am 100% happy with it!!!!

Before I ordered this I tried to order the grant but noone had then in stock and Jegs said they had been on back order for well over a year and didn't have an eta. So I went to this. NRG has a lot of options and works well.
If you see it, its for sale.

What year truck do you have Zippo? I have a 86 and on ebay the kit only goes to 87. I know the two are basically the same but when I put my year in it says it's not compatible.

I have the same set up on my 85.   Had to modify the NRG whub slightly to engage the the turn signal reset and the horn contact location on the hub does not match up with the stock steering wheel.  So Horn does not work on mine.  The hub is supposed to be for an 86+ as listed by NRG.  Don't know if this is the reason.   :dunno: I'll probably be switching out to a momo hub in the next couple of monthes to see if this will fix the horn issue.

i use to have this on all my hondas back in the days when NRG first came out with these devices. These are the best out there that i have experiences. I have contacted NRG about these units in 1st gen T4R and they say it "might" work. So I gave up on it. You guys mind posting up the part # and how to's on modifying the NRG setup. I am very interested.

also, NRG has this locking hub with key that goes over the mount to lock it in place, they also did a video on an attempt to damage the locking hub. it did not budge...

Tis the season I guess. I went out and took some pics.

Parts:

NRG Steering Wheel Quick Release Kit - Black Gen 2.5 - Part # SRK-250BK $116.75

NRG Innovations SRK-120H Short Steering Wheel Hubs $81.99

NRG ST-012R-BL Race Series 320mm Sport Black Leather Steering Wheel Blue Stitch $95

NRG Innovations SRK-101MB Locks Steering Wheel Hubs $84.98

It bolted right up. The only issue is without a little mod the horn and turn signal cancel doesn't work

Here is the first mod I had to do. Simply drill two small hole in about 3/16 of an inch. This get the turn signal cancel working again.

Finally I had to bend the horn power knob thing out a little to get the horn working. How everything works great!

If you see it, its for sale.
