Quick release hinges??
« on: May 22, 2007, 08:24:18 PM »
So I was attempting to make some quick release hinges for my half doors, but I can't get the pins to go in. It's on a 79, So does anyone have any pictures of the pins you are using and are there any special tricks or something. I could get a smaller diameter pin but I am afraid that would creat too much slop in the door. Thanks for any help

What kind of  pin are you using?

i used a m8 bolt, it wanst threaded all the way down, so i jsut the threaded part off...  then i drilled through the bolt for the pin...

If you go to pirate 4x4 under the FAQ - Quick release hinges, you will see a good write up and a pic.

i belive if u go 2 a hard ware/tractor supply  use the pins with holes pre-drilled   that might make it easyer for u  then using bolts.
