Thanks everyone. Can anyone suggest a decent welder I should get? I am looking into possibly doing a SAS on the runner eventually. I have been researching here and pirate for info. I was looking into formal classes for welding in the Vallejo/Bay Area.

WELCOME and there is a few options out there as far as good quality goes. Depends on what you want to spend. Miller or Lincoln obviously kick ass. I have a Mat-Co MIG 230 and it works great, but all depends on what you have to spend.
90'4runner......lots of goodies.

For a welder take a look at the miller 211. Its enough weleder for anything automotive related and likely enough for anything else you'll be doing.  I have one and I love it.
