Added some rear lights.  Basically, pulled my front lights off and put them on the back bumper.  Put these fancy new front lights on. Now my radio doesn't fuzz out!!!!   Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Well, my buddy just picked up a 4.30 elocker and all the wiring, the computer and switch for $75.  Now just waiting on his plan so I can modify his axle housing and wire it up.

Well, yesterday I attempted to fix my passenger side door power window.  I had swapped in a newer motor (both doors actually which was a night a day difference) and replaced the outer window seal and the track seal(and silicon sprayed) a few years ago. However, the mechanism is still laboring to go up but super fast down.  No issues on the drivers side.

My first thought was that the mechanism was gunked up again or the assist spring was shot.  So, I tore it apart and found that the regulator is working fine but the spring looked and felt weak.  I took the spring out and basically shortened it a 1/4" and reinstalled.  Success..........kinda....

The tighter spring did make a difference.  However, the motor still labored to raise the window. Confused, I thought I had put the spring in backwards.  Nope.  So, I brought out my spare battery and hooked the motor straight to it.  Wow, thought the window was gonna shoot out thru the top off the door frame!!!!   Lolz....ok....not that fast but the speed I was hoping for.

Long story short, it looks like the switch is/maybe the culprit.

Don't run power thru the switch.

Have the switch activate some relays.

I'd have to look at the schematic and see what's doing what

So, guess I gotta fix this.

Then track down two power drains on two different circuits.

Well, made a completely new fusible link and installed it.  After tearing all my fuse blocks apart to track down the mysterious drain I could not make heads or tails of it.  I put it back together and started the truck.  I noticed immediately that something was amiss as the motor just idled.  No warm up and sounded "off". So, as I was checking connections around the engine bay I found the alternator feed wire very hot.  Like, I could smell it hot.  Turned off the truck and looked for something grounding out.  After a consolt with a buddy decided to check the alternator at the stud and found that it was over charging at 20+ volts.    Pulled it, replaced it.  Same hot wire issue.

Then I accidentally ground that wire out and fried the big 80 amp fuse.  :/

Not sure what's going on now.  Not sure what's going on to cause an 8 gauge wire to heat up to the point of untouchability.

So, added an extra fusible link and problem solved.

Which problem did it solve? The slow power windows or the power drain/hot wire or both? My windows are slow too, I'm hoping you can come up with a solution so I don't have to figure it out.

Lolz.  Well, I have not figured out the drain part yet.  If I even have one at this point.  I have an expert advisor coming by in the future to take a gander.

Anywho, I fixed the power window on the passenger side by a little bit of everything.  Cleaned the window seal, pulled and cleaned the regulator, disassembled and cleaned the switch....ect.  I found that the passenger side switch does get its own power and it's not pulling power from the drivers switch as I thought it did.  So, that's good.  Knowing that I went ahead decided to help the regulator spring and cut a small section off and welded it back together.  Basically, I made the spring tighter.  I would have rather just reindexed the spring but you can't(like you can do on the seat belt regulator).  All that and it seems equal to the drivers side now.

The hot wire issue is gone now.  Adding a shorter path for the alternator to charge and going from the old factory 2.0L fusible link to a 3.0L newer style definitely helped.

Took my junk out to Walker Valley yesterday. Had a great time, even though it was a short time on the trails.  Spent the majority of the day waiting....waiting....

So, needless to say, only two poser shots.

My motley suspension and drive train components all worked well together.  My OBA worked flawlessly but I really need to add in my two other tanks.
