This is the start of my build.
1992 4 Runner, 3.0 with a 5 speed.

Motor was pretty tired with low compression in #1 and 3 cylinders, so tore into it and decided to pulled the 3.0.

Found a 5VZFE 3.4 out of a 2001 4runner with fairly low miles for a decent price.
They say hindsight is 20/20. Wish I would of just bought a complete donor vehicle!
I want to keep my 5 speed manual transmission.
My plan is to go with an Offroadsulutions wiring harness for the swap.

So...current swap status is I'm looking for an ECU out of the following:
96-01 Tacoma 4x4 M/T 3.4
96-01 T100 4x4 M/T 3.4
In speaking with Mike at ORS I can use an Engine harness out of the following:
96-01 Tacoma
96-00 4Runner
Any year T100

A list of ECU part #'s I'm putting together that may work.....
(all ECU part #'s start as 89661-)
4Runner's
'96 4x4 M/T:  -3d140
'97 4x4 M/T:  -3D310
'98 4x4 M/T:  -3D310
'99 4x4 M/T:  -3D590
Tacoma's
'96 4x4 M/T:  -04220
'97 4x4 M/T:  -04310
'98 4x4 M/T:  -04410
'99 4x4 M/T:  -04450 or 04451
'00 4x4 M/T:  -04690

Any information would be appreciated. Being in California I have to deal with smog so trying to take my time and do this correctly to avoid any issues with the smog ref's.

Been awhile since I've had any time to work on this.

I found a '98 T-100 4x4 3.4 manual 5 speed that had been rolled that I bought for a donor. Highly recommended to find a complete donor vehicle when doing this swap. I already had a low mileage 2000 3.4 out of a 4runner, and now I have another 3.4 from this T-100. I cant say how much help Mike from Off Road Solutions has been, awesome guy and tons of knowledge.
I mainly wanted the computer and harness for my swap but now I have some extra parts: 3.4 w/ 150k miles, 5 speed transmission/T-case, exhaust components, rear end, etc...If anyone is looking for parts off a '98 T-100 let me know.

I pulled the ECU & harness out, ordered my conversion harness from ORS, worked on the crossover pipe (used parts from all 3 to make 1) and changed out my oil pan (using the 3.0 pan). I snapped 3 studs on the manifolds taking the stock crossover pipe off the 3.4 so now I am going to have to drill them out and possibly re-tap. #joy
On another note, I came across a Dana60U rear axle the other day. Evidently the Dana 60U comes in E350's. Not sure if I will narrow it or go with full width. I sure wasnt planning on a SAS just yet but figured Id get to gathering parts as I came across them. Next will be finding a front end sometime down the road after the 3.4 swap is done.
On the 3.4 swap I am at a stand still until I get the conversion harness, which should be real soon. Mike at ORS expected to have it in the mail any day.
Will update when I can. Happy holidays!

Dingman.

Where are you located?   Whats the gear ratio of the rear diff on the T-100?

ORS still in business??? Thought they went out of business.

Wondering about the rear axle also.

I also taught him how to put in 5min of hard work and then spend 15min staring and admiring what you have done...
