Topic: My cobra 21 has issues+ ? about my base.

1. It would Seem my radio still transmits  but i have no audio.  Now i did try 2 different mics  and that's not the problem.    I was wondering if its possible for just that circuit to burn out form being mounted in the dash?
  Also  with my radio off  i can still receive strong signals.    Every now and then i get the mysterious Morse code type signals   all the lights come on, meter swings. Did the conspiracy experts ever come up with a conclusion on this.  I think X-files said something about submarine communications net.

I just hate having to take apart the whole dash to get the fker out But cant fix it in dash.  maybe i need to get my 25 back from my buddy or mount my Washington base in the truck.... No 

2.My uniden Washington base needs a new mic my POS echo master crapped out a long time ago.  now the plug is 5wire but looks like 4 are used.  My extra 4pin cobra mic I would like to use.   Now i have looked/searched for plug wiring diagrams  they all go by  pin 1,2,3,4  and label what the wire is  TR, TX ground.  but that dose me no good i need color chart   say pin 1 red wire.  cant seem to find a chart like that.  and of coarse the echo and cobra use different color wires.......... 

One more thing   I cant have a reg base station arial where im at.   can a ham dill pole  style be used with a cb?

I forgot to take pics.  anyways so what i could find i have the 4 wire mic  wired right to the 5 pin plug.   but it dose not work.  Now when i took off the echomaster from the 5 wire plug only 4 pins where used so i know a 4 pin mic will work.
cobra mic 4pin plug.
pin1 shield/com
pin2: audio
pin3: TX
pin4: RX

5pin plug / how i wired it.  from the info i could find. 
pin 1:  red wire TX
pin2: com    non insulated wire.
pin3: RX blue wire
pin4: shield
pin5: audio  white wire.

Now the insulated wire you would think goes to the pin4: shield  now i also saw info where pin 2/4 can be jumpered   which i tryed.   no luck.   after the brickyard400  ill go back out to the shed and move the insulated wire to pin 4 and see what happens.
